Not everyone can attend all the matches or if you did not buy a programme then we have included the latest notes below.

Programme Notes Saturday 25 October 2019

A very warm welcome to all supporters, players and officials of both Bedford Blues and Ealing Trailfinders to what is our second meeting in a short period.

After a poor initial cup run, the Blues put on a great display to win away at Yorkshire Carnegie in the first league game of the season in what was appalling weather conditions. However, the second league game last weekend at Coventry did not end as well – I still wonder where all that injury time came from!

The Coventry game also saw the Followers Treasurer (Geoff Appleton) miss his first Blues try at a game he was attending since 1998. That will teach him to pop to the loo in what looked like a quiet spell!

The Followers ‘Man of The Match’ at the game against Yorkshire Carnegie was Robbie Smith who was a well-deserved winner. The picture is him getting his bottle of champagne from George Herring.

Please keep an eye out on the Followers web site plus our Facebook and Twitter pages. You will find details of upcoming events, especially away trips. Please book away trips as early as possible, especially long-distance ones like Penzance, as we must commit to coaches, etc. some time ahead of the trip.

In case you have not seen the announcement, The Followers will be supporting the Matt Hampson Foundation over this season, an excellent organisation who work on supporting people who have suffered serious injury, especially whilst playing sport.

Finally, please respect everybody from both sides and especially the officials. Nobody is perfect and they do not go out of their way to upset players or supporters, although that doesn’t always go to plan!

Have a great day and COYB

Phil Novis, President
