Not everyone can attend all the matches or if you did not buy a programme then we have included the latest notes below.

Programme Notes Saturday 18 January 2020

A very warm welcome to all supporters, players and officials of both Bedford Blues and Hartpury.

This set of programme notes has certainly been a lot easier to write than my previous few as it follows an excellent away win at London Scottish last Friday evening with a final score of 24-17 to The Blues.

As many people have said, the players and coaches have not been deliberately performing badly and the performances have been down to many things, but player injuries were undoubtably a major one. With several players returning to fitness plus a big effort from all in the squad, we all hoped that a win would come soon.

It’s been difficult talking to players over the last few months and seeing how disappointed they were with the results, many of those results being losses by small amounts so it’s great to see them get some reward for those efforts. They just need to keep up the good work!

The Followers ‘Man of The Match’ at the game against London Scottish was Alex Day who was a well-deserved winner. The picture is him getting his bottle of champagne from Martin Sharpe.

Please keep an eye out on the Followers web site plus our Facebook and Twitter pages. You will find details of upcoming events, especially away trips. Please book away trips as early as possible, especially long-distance ones like Penzance, as we must commit to coaches, etc. well ahead of the trip. The Followers also produce an excellent newsletter several times during the season which is well worth keeping any eye out for.

Finally, please respect everybody from both sides and especially the officials. Nobody is perfect and they do not go out of their way to upset players or supporters, although that doesn’t always go to plan!

Have a great day and COYB!

Phil Novis, President
